New York…where to begin…. That is always what comes to mind when getting the opportunity to visit. There is so much to see, so much to do and so much to experience!
From the World Trade Center Memorial to Central Park and quite a bit in between, Cam and I got to taste a little of everything. We stayed a few blocks off of Central Park, on the Upper East Side, with a friend’s aunt and uncle, Mary Ellen and Andrea. They were the most gracious hosts; welcoming us into their homes and making it feel as though it was ours.
Time worked in our favor, allowing us to enjoy some familiar faces along the way: Nico, Erin and Aunt Joan. Nico, one of Cam’s best friends from his French study abroad experience, happened to be in town with his wife. Cam and I celebrated with Nico and Chrystal around Times Square, as they had just recently tied the knot! Erin, one of my good friends from Colorado State, has lived all over Manhattan for the last three years working for both Tory Burch and Saks Fifth Avenue Corporate. She introduced us to some unique restaurants and bars in the West and East Villages! Aunt Joan, Mary Ellen’s sister, invited us to explore one of her favorite areas, the Highline Canal. Once an abandoned railroad in the Meatpacking District, the Highline Canal became an urban renewal project that now attracts people to meet up and relax with friends.
It was wonderful to spend time with so many cultured friends. Our time in New York City was a whirlwind but we got to see, do and experience a lot!
