Highlight of New York City…the Met and the MOMA. Our gracious hosts are members at both museums and were able to extend their passes to Cameron and myself!
While studying graphic design at Colorado State University, I was required to take a handful of art history courses. The first few classes I grit and bear; they really felt like a requirement. As we moved into Fauvism, Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Surrealist, and Abstract Expressionist, something was sparked.
The Met and the MOMA have wonderful collections of these art movements. Works from Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, and George-Pierre Seurat just to name a few. I find myself standing in front of these pieces completely captivated. The size, the color, the emotion, the technique…everything about them is alluring.
These works truly speak to me.
