While day dreaming about our travels prior to our departure, I thought it would be interesting to depict something that could resemble each city and country. I wanted it to be something that was similar yet showed the different character of each stop on our adventure.
Amy, Cameron’s mom, had the idea of doors. This one stuck because not only are they so different but they are also an interesting metaphor.
Doors are entrances for coming and exits for going. They are either open to welcome or shut to not welcome. They are either locked (secure) or unlocked (insecure). They either keep out (exclude) or keep in (include).
There are big ones and small ones, ornate ones and simple ones. They come in a variety of shapes, textures, colors and materials. So often, we don’t even notice doors since they are merely just a way in or way out of or to something.
When you stop and look, there are so many beautiful ones!
